This is a tool that can create a bootable device in a USB flash drive.
FlashBoot will help make USB storage devices bootable. USB thumb drives and USB HDDs are supported by the tool. This utility will partition the drive suitably, formats the USB dive and installs the OS on it automatically. The operating systems it can work with include Windows 8/7/Vista/XP, SysLinux-based disks, GRUB4DOS disks, Linux kernel etc. You can create a blank USB drive and then install just the necessary files on it. You could further tune it to your requirements and get a completely customized OS disk that is portable. A full version bootable CD-ROM could be similarly converted to a bootable USB drive. With this customized or full version OS as well as the set of applications you use, you can actually carry your computing environment around. Take it to a cyber cafe to public library or to home to work from there.
You would be, with the flash-boot, able to create boot device for installing on devices like the netbook/ (other computers) that did not have a CD drive. This can be any of the compatible OS that you may want to use on the machine. Several other extracted tool that can be carried in a bootable USB drive include the Windows XP recovery console, BartPE bootable CD, IsoLinux, SysLinux, GRUB4DOS and DOS bootable USB disks. Duplicate USB disks could be created too. Image files also could be created and distributed over a network. The interface is simple and with the added help of a wizard, there should not be any trouble using it by most users. Quite a good tool, if you needed a tool like this.
